The double leg takedown involves controlling both of your opponent's legs and driving forward to bring them to the ground.

Drill Steps

Assume a balanced, staggered stance.

  • Place one leg forward and one back
  • Prepare for an explosive movement

Drop your body level below your partner's head.

  • Avoid aligning your head with theirs
  • Create a clear entry to their legs

Drop your lead knee to the mat between their legs.

  • Land your knee past their toes
  • Keep your head up and focused

Wrap your arms firmly around both of your partner's legs.

  • Grab behind their knees or thighs
  • Secure a tight grip for control

Drive forward powerfully with your back leg to complete the takedown.

  • Keep driving through them
  • Maintain control of their legs until they fall
