Collar Drag Takedown

The collar drag takedown is a quick grappling move where you pull your opponent forward by their collar while stepping aside, causing them to lose balance and fall.

Drill Steps

Establish your grips.

  • Get a cross collar grip on your opponent
  • Control their same-side sleeve

Create an angle by stepping out.

  • Step your lead foot out on the grip side
  • This creates space for the drag

Pull the collar and sleeve across your body.

  • Imagine crossing their arm like an arm drag
  • Aim to pull them off balance towards your side

Fall to your elbow as you drag.

  • Maintain an athletic base on your elbow
  • Avoid falling flat onto your shoulder

Finish the takedown.

  • Get to an athletic position to drive them down
  • Gather their leg to run them over and secure top position
