The Gorilla Pass Drill is a dynamic movement drill designed to build strong guard-passing mechanics, balance, and rhythm.
Drill Steps

Partner Setup
- Partner lies on their back in open guard
- Legs are relaxed (not actively framing or attacking)
- This is a cooperative drill, not live resistance
- You can also use a gym ball instead of a partner

Set Your Posts
- Stand off to one side of your partner in open guard
- Inside hand goes between the legs, make a fist, post it on the mat
- Outside hand posts on the knee or hip

Swing Your Body
- Shift your weight into your posts
- Swing your hips and torso to the opposite side
- Be sure to land the outside leg first
- Keep your head over your base
- Hands stay posted while your body moves

Switch and Repeat
- Switch your hands as you arrive on the new side
- Flow side to side continuously
