This drill teaches a safe and effective way to escape the knee on belly position without exposing yourself to further attacks.
Drill Steps

Grab the opponent's knee with the near hand.
- Keep your body tight to prevent attacks
- Hook your fingers around the front of the knee

Plant your far foot and execute a strong hip escape.
- Drive off your planted foot to create space
- Keep holding the knee in place with your hand

Immediately shoot an underhook.
- Use the space created by the shrimp
- Reach deep with your arm to secure the underhook

Follow through to an advantageous position.
- Escape to your side and face your opponent
- Work to recover your guard or take the back
