Top Side Control to Kimura to Tarikoplata

No-GiGi

Learn to attack the GSB Kimura from side control and transition to a Tarikoplata if the initial submission is defended.

Drill Steps

1

Start in side control and pin the opponent's far arm.

  • Maintain tight side control.
  • Control their body movement.
2

Windshield wipe your legs, bringing your top leg over their arm.

  • Ensure their arm is securely trapped.
  • Pull up at their shoulder, not just the arm.
3

Step over the opponent's head and pull them up to secure the Kimura grip.

  • Establish a deep and strong Kimura grip.
  • Keep their arm isolated and controlled.
4

Throw your leg over their legs and sit down for the Kimura finish.

  • Trap their head and legs with your body.
  • Apply pressure for the Kimura submission.
5

If the opponent defends the Kimura by linking their hands, grab your own thigh.

  • Use this as a direct counter to their defense.
  • Maintain the Kimura grip on their arm.
6

Kick your leg, post your hand, and sit on their chest to finish the Tarikoplata.

  • Use the leg kick to break their posture.
  • Apply rotational pressure for the submission.
