Side Control Escape via Ghost Escape

A ghost escape from bottom side control by Chad Lyman that uses an underhook and hip drive to slip out and come up into a wrestling or submission position.

Drill Steps

Get your hands in position.

  • Slide your bottom arm down deep close to their hips
  • With the top arm keep them close to you

Break their balance in a single move.

  • Switch your feet and drive your hips in
  • Rotate your body towards their head
  • Slide your bottom arm while you rate your body
  • Aim your pressure into their armpit

Release yourself.

  • With your bottom hand, grab their neck to keep them down
  • Use your top hand's elbow to bring your knees below you
  • Tuck your head down and dig deeper your bottom hand around their neck

Wrestle or attack.

  • Secure a front headlock
  • Transition to darce or head-and-arm attacks
