Drill Steps

Protect your neck immediately.

  • Bring your chin down to your chest.
  • Post the opponent's far elbow with the same side arm.
  • Keep that arm post until you escape.

Turn your body towards the opponent's choking arm.

  • Use the arm post to keep the secondary arm away.
  • Drive your shoulder into their chest.
  • Create a wedge with your head and shoulder.

Create space and escape the back position.

  • Push off their hips to slide out.
  • Turn to face your opponent and establish guard.
