Triangle choke from Closed Guard

Execute a no-gi triangle choke from closed guard by controlling both arms, breaking posture, and securing a strong finishing angle.
Drill Steps
1
Establish closed guard and initial arm control.
- Get an overhook on one of their arms.
- Pinch their tricep with your armpit.

Control their second arm.
- As they push on you, grip their wrist with thumbs-in.
- Lock your other hand over it for a C-clamp grip.

Break their posture and set up the leg throw.
- Hip forward to break their posture.
- Pull the controlled arm across your body.

Throw your leg over their shoulder.
- Ensure the leg coming from under their armpit goes over their shoulder.
- Keep downward pressure on their shoulder with your leg.

Secure the initial triangle lock.
- Bring your foot to your other knee.
- Pinch your knees together tightly.

Cut the angle for the finish.
- Grab your shin with one hand and their head with the other.
- Push off the mat with your foot and hip out to the side.

Finish the triangle choke.
- Keep your foot pointed up to prevent knee lock.
- Push your knee into their neck to remove space.
- Turn your leg out and clamp down, engaging your hamstring.
- Squeeze and pull their head for the tap.
